I've searched the old posts but can't find any reports form those of you who were fitting manual On / Off switches in place of the air temp sensor on the wiper mechanism to control the booster heater.

Have any of you now done it and if so does it work well?

I was a little worried it might affect the main ECU as mentioned by some?

Mine is a MK1 1999 Zetec 1.9TDI 110

I think my Aux water pump may also not be working as I cant hear it after I switch off the engine? Do they all have them and where exactly are they located?

For anyone else doing it, you just remove the 3 screws and pull off the long cover under the wipers then the pump is just mounted in a couple of rubber rings. once you disconnect the plug you can slide it out. The hardest bit is disconnecting the stupid hose connectors. I binned them and put sume jubilees on that you can get a socket onto. At the mo the pump is bypassed with a piece of 22mm copper. Gazza was quite right....the pump motor only runs if you remove the impeller and flick it to start it.
